Jo Munro - Studio Owner and Principal Teacher

Originally I was trained as a dancer, specialising in ballet and contemporary dance, however I had to retire early due to injury. Pilates was integral in my recovery and it seemed like a natural progression to train as a pilates teacher and to pass the knowledge on to other people. I began teaching Pilates matwork in 2001, and have continued my Pilates education to cover all of the Pilates Studio equipment. This comprehensive training enables me to teach on the Reformer, Trapeze Table, Combo Chair, Ladder Barrel and with all of the small Pilates equipment. Over the years i have continued my education and training and have studied Gyrokinesis, The Bowen Technique, Thai Massage, Reiki, and Hula Hooping. Most Recently i have been combining my love of stand up paddle boarding and fitness to bring my classes to the water. Mylo the pilates pup has been a firm favourite at the studio for the last ten years, he loves a cuddle on the sofa and sometimes helps me out in class!

  Aisha Tannahill

Aisha has 10 years experience working in London’s high-end fitness and clinical sector having moved to the capital from New Zealand in 2008.

She is a certified BASI comprehensive pilates teacher as well as holding a personal trainer qualification from the prestigious New Zealand Institute of Sport.  She is highly passionate around helping people to become the healthiest and happiest version of themselves.

Growing up in New Zealand, she took full advantage of what it had to offer; snowboarding, swimming, horse riding, playing tennis, netball and enjoying athletics.

Aisha has first hand experience of the true power of pilates after utilising it as part of managing a spinal injury she endured at the age of 12. Inspired by how quickly her back pain was managed by pilates, she decided to study with BASI UK and has since witnessed countless occasions of how life changing pilates can be.

She has a unique clinical skill set due to having a lengthy experience of working along physiotherapists and osteopaths, in one of Londons best established Musculoskeletal practices. Here she helps individuals recover after referral from surgical consultants and has developed a reputation for making the rehabilitation process both effective and fun.

Having recently moved to Edinburgh Aisha spends half her week teaching private pilates and personal clients in London and the other half doing the same here in Edinburgh.

Her wide range of clients include professional athletes, rehabilitation patients, mums, politicians, city workers, CEO’s and grandparents.
